Simonis Cloth Style & Colors for Pool Table

Simonis is the only textile mill in the world dedicated to producing cloth for cue-sports and all Simonis pool and carom cloths use worsted wool construction, making them very strong and very durable while maintaining the best possible playing surface.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 860, 860HR, and 760

1- Composition & Weight:

  • 860™: 90% wool / 10% nylon ; ± 410 g/m²
  • 760™: 70% wool / 30% nylon ; ± 355 g/m²
  • 860 HR™: 70% wool / 30% nylon ; ± 410 g/m²
  • 920™: 85% wool/15% nylon ; ± 325 g/m²

2- Manufacturing process (shearing, decatising …)

The technical specifications chosen to meet the cloth requirements regarding its purpose. The Nylon yarns are more resistant than the wool yarns and therefore the 760 and 860HR are more resistant cloth than the 860 but the wool provides a better control of the balls and therefore the playability (control of the balls) of the 860 is better than the others. The speed of the cloth depends of the weight (and other parameters). The 760 is faster than the others. The attached graphic shows what cloth to choose depending of what you are looking for, control or speed.
